Brown Cemetery, near Rock Cave, WV Directions: From Interstate 79, take Exit 79 (Burnsville), then turn onto Route 5 East. This takes you to Heaters. Turn left onto Rt. 4/Rt. 19 and continue through Napier and Ireland. Continue on Route 19 through Lewis County. Approximately 3 miles past the Upshur County line, you will take a right onto Heastons Ridge Road. Stay on the hardtop road (main road of Heastons Ridge). Approximately 2 miles up Heastons Ridge, the main road will veer right (there is a sign that says Welcome to Ingo Church). The cemetery is located 2/10 mile on the left from this small intersection. Look for the cedar trees. From Burnsville, the total mileage is about 30 miles to the cemetery. Compared to several cemeteries we've visited, this one is amazing. It's completely clean, the stones are all in good condition and the road is very well kept. You must park at the gate and walk about 75 yards to the cemetery (be sure to latch the gate). |
